A commercial sidewalk is only as good as its base. We start with layout, utility checks, and proper demolition or excavation, then set forms to the right width, thickness, and cross slope. Subgrade is proof-rolled and corrected, then we place and compact a stable base (typically DOT-grade limerock or crushed aggregate) in lifts with a plate compactor, installing geotextile when soils are weak. We set control joints and expansion joints, dowel where tie-ins are required, and reinforce as needed with rebar or welded wire mesh, then place concrete at the specified mix design (common for commercial flatwork is 4,000 psi with air entrainment when required) and strike off to consistent grade.
